Nutrition Health Review Editorial Message—Summer 2017, No. 116 "I regret taking such good care of my skin." —No One Ever W elcome to Issue Number 116 of Nutrition Health Review, our "skin and vacation" issue. Hmmm...interesting combination, you say? Well, as the largest organ in your body, your skin deserves a lot of TLC from you, and, as a significant part of your overall well being, your mental health does too. So, in this edition of NHR, we focus on these two important components of a healthy lifestyle—skin care and vacation time (yes, vacations are good for your mental health). We thought this was a good combination of topics, considering that your skin can be affected by where, when, and how often you vacation. Actually, there are a number of factors that influence your skin health, including nutrition, exercise, sun exposure, and exposure to other environmental elements, to name a few. And we've put together a collection of evidence-based information on each of these factors that we hope you find helpful and easy to apply to your daily life and maintenance of healthy skin. We've also included tidbits, snippets, and morsels of what's what when planning and enjoying the perfect vacation—all of which we hope you find interesting and helpful for maintaining a positive outlook and mental well-being. So here's to healthy skin, a healthy mind, and the pleasure of some good ol' R&R! As always, we hope you enjoy this issue of NHR as much as we did putting it together for you. Sincerely, Elizabeth A.
